Santos midfielder Ganso has blasted reports suggesting he is jealous of team-mate Neymar, who has been linked with the likes of Barcelona, Chelsea and Real Madrid.
Ganso, 22, has himself been linked with Chelsea, while AC Milan and Manchester United have previously shown interest.
While the Brazil international has impressed over the past couple of years in South America, 20-year-old Neymar has made headlines much more regularly – both at home and around the world – after a string of man-of-the-match performances.
But Ganso has hit out at reports suggesting he is envious of his compatriot, telling SporTV: “The rumour has made me upset because it never happened.
“It made me upset because people always say there is a jealousy between us, but I think if we have that true friendship, like a brother and a friend, it’s because we never let it interfere with anything.”
Both players continue to be linked with a move to Europe, but Ganso added: “To make everyone comfortable, especially the Santos supporters who think I will go, in contrast to the reports, I’m very focused and very clear on what I want.
“I’m now at Santos, I’m performing very well, honouring the No. 10 shirt as I always have and that makes me more comfortable to return to the Selecao as well.”
